Kirkubright, Scotland

During a trip to Scotland, I was invited to spend the weekend with friends on a lighthouse island. This was my first experience wearing  “wellies” and I loved the freedom of tromping around the island, rain or shine, walking anywhere, through anything! This photo was taken in my friend Rosie’s secret garden. What was I thinking? I love my wellies! Freedom to roam where the heart wants to go!

How many of you reading this don’t get enough sleep? Hundreds, thousands, millions? Add me to the list. That’s why, when I’m starting my day at the gym at dawn, I’m thinking ahead to the half hour nap I’m going to take around 3:00 pm. I consider it to be … continue >

I wonder if this is how Goldilocks felt when she lay down in Papa and Mama Bears’ beds. Of course, for her it was an issue of physical discomfort and had nothing to do with feelings that she was usurping someone else’s bed.

In my case, the discomfort is indeed … continue >

I had just retired, and shifted from the intense activity of viewing my work world in terms of discrimination cases of complainants/victims and accused/perpetrators, to a sudden stillness of viewing the world from the bed after surgery on my left foot!  I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could … continue >
